Step 9. Waiting to Publish Your Blog:

It's a good idea to wait to publish your blog to the world until you are comfortable with your writing style and the content you are publishing as well as getting comfortable with the basics of how Blogger works.

To wait to publish your blog:

• Select the Dashboard link located in the upper right hand corner
• Click on the Settings Link

• Select "No" for the "Add your blog to our listings?" option
• For now, also select "No" for the "Let search engines find your blog?" option

Don't forget to reset these same settings to "Yes" when you are ready for the world to find and read your blog and for the search engines to index it. In the meantime you can send the link to friends and family and they will be able to view it but only people you send the link to will be able to see it.
